Diwali Celebration at Kittredge last Wednesday

We had the pleasure of celebrating Diwali last Wednesday, complete with a dance performance from Duniya Dance and Drum Company, the chance to draw rangoli designs, and to enjoy samosas and lassi! We would like to extend a huge thank you to the lovely Kittredge parents that made this possible. Thank you!!

Hot Lunch

Hot Lunch this Friday (10/31) will be: Cheese Piroshki, Juice Box, Fruit/Veg, and a Side Item.

The cost of each lunch will be $9.00. A second (or even a third) slice, bagel, etc. may be ordered for an additional $3.00 each.

If you have not already done so for the month, place your orders using this Google form.

Orders are placed on Thursday morning. All orders must be submitted by end of day on Wednesday.

Science Club #2 - Energy, Electricity, and Other Invisible Forces

Science Club continues TODAY, October 28th with our new five-week session focused on energy, electricity, and other invisible forces, which can sometimes make science appear to be “magic”. Science Club with Ms. Rose is an exciting after-school STEAM enrichment program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Science Club is an opportunity to learn about science, have fun with friends, and make projects to bring home, or give as gifts to friends and family.  Come join us Tuesdays after school to create fun STEAM projects!

Halloween Reminders

Halloween is this Friday!! Kids are invited to come to school in costume to celebrate! But, before we get into all the spooky fun, we have a few reminders for our community.

First, Kittredge is a candy-free school. Please refrain from sending your child with any sugary sweets on the 31st.

Second, we do not allow costumes that include weapons of any kind (including props), nor do we allow inflatable costumes. We appreciate your cooperation.

Third, the biggest assignment is to HAVE FUN!

Halloween Parade

On Friday, October 31st, parents and family members are invited to join us at 2pm in front of the school for our annual holiday parade. Kittredge students, teachers, and community members will parade around the block before gathering at Rochambeau Park for some Halloween festivities, led by our performing arts teacher Ms. K!

Parents, if you plan to depart with your child after the festivities, please make sure to let your child's teacher know that you are leaving with your child. All students will leave their belongings in their classrooms during the parade.

Thank you Parent Volunteers!

Speaking of Halloween, we had an amazing time over the weekend at the Great Hauntway, handing out treats and enjoying some spooky fun. We want to extend a HUGE thank you to those that have helped us create Halloween magic this past week and extend thanks to those who are supporting our community this week!

From stuffing goodie bags, to passing out treats and spreading the word about the best little school in town we appreciate our community. Thank you!

Picture Day

Time to start picking out those outfits, Kittredge! Picture Day is Friday, November 7. Come ready to show your pearly whites and when the photos are available a few weeks after Picture Day, you can decide on photo package options. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details!

Sports Report

Our Kittredge teams are finishing the season out strong with our final meets and games! Cross Country Finals will take place Monday, November 10th at Hellman Hollow. And our volleyball team will be finishing out the season on Monday, November 3rd at Ella Hill Hutch. We are ready to go out with a bang! Go Coyotes!

Looking Ahead

Open Veterans Day

We will not have classes on November 11, Veterans Day. Extended day is open for five or more. Please use this form if you would like to sign your child up for Extendo.

Open House

We have one last open house this upcoming Saturday, November 8. We encourage prospective families to come check us out and get to know our space and our mission! If you know of a family who you think would be a great Kitt fit, send them our way! We would love to meet them.

Academy of Sciences

It's almost time for one of our favorite field trips of the year! Our annual school-wide trip to the Academy of Sciences is slotted for Thursday, November 20. We can't wait to walk through the rainforest, wave hello to penguins, and stand below towering dinosaurs with our students again this year! If you are scheduled as a driver, please make sure we have your driver info on file in the office.

Thanksgiving Break

Already?! Thanksgiving Break will be here before we know it. Please remember that Kittredge will be closed November 24-28. Classes will resume on December 1.

Fall Fundraising Raffle and Count Me In Sign Ups

Just another 4 days before our raffle ends on October 31st at 11pm! Head over to our auction site The Great Kittredge Harvest to see all the exciting items up for grabs. Raffle winners will be announced at the Fall Social on November 1. Plus, check out fun CMI events to join - many are quickly selling out! CMIs are a great opportunity for kids across grades (and parents) to connect, have fun and make memories together.

Also, we’ve got a sweet surprise planned for Field Day 2026 if our community collectively reaches 80% participation - we're currently at 74% with K/1 leading the way at 100% class participation! Every bit of participation counts — a cash donation, a Count Me In (CMI) sign-up, or even a $10 raffle ticket for an Auction item.

Holiday Happening Planning Volunteers Needed

The Holiday Happening, December 18th, 6:30-8 PM, is right around the corner! There’s snow party like our end-of-year winter celebration—and that’s because of our many volunteers! If you’re Yeti to help, please click here to lend a hand to help us plan this year's festivities. Co-Chairs Carla Bass (carlarosebass@gmail.com) and Adrianne Ford (adriannemarieford@gmail.com) are grateful for all assistance and happy to answer any questions! And please try to attend the next KPA meeting on Nov. 18 where we will be discussing Holiday Happening in more detail.
