Kittredge Konnection - September 29, 2026

This Week's News

Habit of Mind: Listening with Understanding and Empathy

As part of our Habits of Mind framework, this month we are focusing on Listening with Understanding and Empathy and putting what we learn into practice!

We are encouraging our Kittredge community to reflect on past experiences and learning opportunities so we can be better equipped to take on new challenges. This week, try asking your child, “How do you think this character feels?” while reading a book together or watching a show or movie. It’s a simple way to practice understanding different perspectives and emotions!

Spirit Day this Friday!

This Friday, October 2, we will be having our first official spirit day - SPORTS DAY! Come wearing your favorite jersey, representing your favorite team, or with gear from your favorite sport. We can't wait to see everyone dressed up!

Join Mahjong Club - Starting Soon

Driver Forms

Are you planning on chaperoning a field trip this year?

First of all, THANK YOU!

Second, please make sure you fill out a driver form. These forms must be filled out and returned to our office annually, so if you have yet to complete one this school year, please do so! It is also important that we receive a copy of your insurance coverage and a photocopy of your driver's license along with this form! Thank you!!

Hot Lunch

Hot Lunch this Friday (10/2) will be: Pizza, Juice Box, Piece of Fruit, and a Side Item.

The cost of each lunch will be $9.50. A second (or even a third) slice, bagel, etc. may be ordered for an additional $3.00 each.

If you have not already done so for the month, place your orders using this Google form.

Orders are placed on Thursday morning. All orders must be submitted by end of day on Wednesday.

Sports

Kittredge sports are up and running with 1 Cross Country meet and 1 Volleyball game under our belts. We have a fantastic group of athletes this year representing Kittredge, not to mention Coach Gules and Coach Kevin! Keep it up Coyotes!!

Cross country is training up for their next meet, which will be next Tuesday, October 6 at McLaren Park. Woohoo!

Volleyball had a great first game against Live Oak! The team showed great teamwork and we can't wait for the rest of the season. Tonight, our Coyotes play Gateway Middle School.

Virtual Info Session

Our upcoming Virtual Information Session for Kittredge Admissions is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know our new group of prospective families. It will be tomorrow, September 30 at 6:30pm.

One Small Way to Care For Our Planet

In the spirit of this trimester's Character Counts pillar, Caring, we would like to take a moment to remind all Kittredge students the important of caring for our planet.

At Kittredge, we have three bins in every classroom (landfill, compost, and recycling) and encourage students to self-sort when they dispose of materials. Many classroom teachers will also make sorting into a classroom job, so that each class is as environmentally friendly as it can be!

Please take a moment to look over these charts with your family if you would like a refresher on how to be a champion for our planet!
