Kittredge Konnection - May 27, 2025

This Week's News

Another Successful Baker Beach Clean

Last week's annual Baker Beach Clean was a hit! We are so grateful to Refuse Refuse for helping us in giving our favorite place in the neighborhood some much-needed love and attention.

Thank you also to the Kittredge parents who supplied a feast for our picnic! From salads and sides to treat and drinks, there was so much deliciousness to choose from on Thursday.

Study Hall Available Through this Week

We have decided to extend study hall availability through the end of this week! This week will be available free of charge for families with an extended day or study hall plan, and continue to be available for drop-in if families would like to use it.

Yearbook Signing Tomorrow

Tomorrow afternoon Kittredge students will receive their 2024-2025 yearbooks and have the opportunity to trade signatures with the whole school.

Field Day this Friday!

Field Day is one of our favorite days of the year, where students will be participating in activities all day long with their friends and schoolmates. Activities range from 50 yard dash, relay races, football toss and an epic game of capture the flag!

Students will be given a Field Day shirt at the beginning of the day, and are encouraged to rep their team color (go green!) in other ways like pants, jackets, wigs, face paint, and accessories.

Please have your child bring a healthy, hearty lunch and a water bottle. Sunblock, jackets, and a blanket for the picnic portion are also encouraged!

Check out the attached letter from Ms. Gules in your Konnection email, which has more details on the day and a list of everyone's team colors.

End-of-Year Picnic

This Sunday, June 1, is the end-of-year picnic at Rochambeau! We invite all Kittredge community members to come by for food, company, and celebration of another excellent year!

Congratulations to our Alumni High School Grads!

We are very proud of our former Kittredge kids who are heading off to college! Shout out to Jacob (Stanford), Shani (Tulane), and Rachel (University of Washington).

Annual Teacher Appreciation Potluck, June 4th

Show our wonderful teachers your appreciation! The Teacher Appreciation Potluck Luncheon is on Wednesday, 6/4. Sign-up here to contribute food, drinks, and/or volunteer at the event. Contact Riva (Asha, 6th & Akash, 3rd) if you have any questions.

End of Year Teacher Gift

Our tradition at Kittredge is to thank our terrific teachers by collecting contributions for year-end gifts to show our gratitude for everything they do for our kids, each and every day.

This year's drive will be run by Lisa Wongchenko (Wes, 4th). We will pool contributions from all classes and distribute funds based on whether teachers work full or part-time to ensure that all teachers and staff receive a token of our appreciation for their efforts. There is no pressure to donate and no amount is too small. As principal, Ms. Pon-Barry, has elected to have her portion go to the teachers.

All donations are due THIS FRIDAY by May 30!

Please send your gift to Lisa Wongchenko through Venmo or Paypal using lisawongchenko@gmail.com
