Kittredge Konnection – March 5, 2019

Project Cicero Bay Area is At Kittredge This Week!

The Kittredge community is partnering with Project Cicero Bay Area. We are taking part in a children’s book drive designed to create and supplement classroom libraries in schools that desperately need books. Many other San Francisco schools are participating, and together, we hope to collect and distribute thousands of books to over 300 teachers, reaching 10,000 students in need this year.

Books in need are: Beginning Readers, Picture Books, Board Books, Early and Middle Grade Chapter Books, Young Adult Fiction, Graphic Novels, Classic Literature, Geography/History, Multicultural Literature, Biographies, Poetry, Plays/Drama, Up-to-date Reference. Please no Adult Books or textbooks.

Middle School Dance at Presidio Hill This Friday, March 8

Permission slips must be received by Thursday morning if your child would like to attend this Friday evening’s dance. It should be a fun time for all… especially for Mr. Young who will be chaperoning.

Please Complete Your Tuition Agreement By Friday

Enrollment is over (thank you everyone!) and the next step is creating a Tuition Agreement by choosing your payment dates, options, and methods. Last Tuesday, you received an email from TADS with the link. Please complete this step by Friday, March 9.

Thank you to everyone who has already done this. Please let us know if you have any problems or concerns.

Our Second Trimester Ends Next Friday, March 22

There are a little over 2 weeks left to the 2nd trimester. Now is a great time to check TeacherEase and so there are no surprises on your child’s report card. Please let Trudy know if you need another “invitation” sent to sign in.

The Kittredge School Talent Show is Thursday, March 28 at 6:15pm

***Important: Our start time is 6:15 this year***

Please join us at Kanbar Hall in the JCCSF for a great time! The doors to Kanbar Hall will be open at 5:45. Please make sure that you are there by 6:00 so you don’t miss a minute of this wonderful evening.

Classes are working on their group performances with David. Each child’s role in the class production is important so please let us know if your child will not be attending the talent show.

We hope all students and families will attend. Have your child show you what they are doing!

March 28: No Study Hall; Extendo is Open until 5pm

Please note that because of the Talent Show, there will be no Study Hall on Thursday, March 28th. Extended Day is scheduled until 5pm and Study Hall students may join Extendo until 4:30 if you need the coverage.

No Classes on March 29 – Extended Day will Open for More than 5 Students

There will be no classes on Friday, March 29 so that our teachers can have a workday. We will discuss curriculum, accreditation, and end of year goals as well as prepare for Parent Conferences. A survey monkey registration will be sent home next week.

Summer at Kittredge – June 17 to July 19

Summer is a great opportunity to engage children in activities that enrich their academic foundation and keep them involved and interested in learning.

Our 5-week summer program is open to students entering first through eighth grades. Mornings are designed to keep students active and their grade level skills strong. The afternoons offer a variety of free play and structured activities. If you are interested, please return an enrollment form to reserve a space for your child. Applications are available in the office or you can download one here Summer 2019 brochure or from our website.

There’s Still Time… Count-Me-In Ideas for the Auction!

A note from Homa Hanjani, Count Me In Coordinator

Dear Wonderful Kittredge Community,

A team is working hard to make this year’s Dinner & Auction a fun and successful event… and we need your help with Count-Me-Ins!

Count-Me-Ins are fun inclusive experiences that Kittredge families and faculty can sign up for during the silent auction.

They are easy to create. By filling out the attached form you are designing a Count-Me-In event to host and making it available for families to sign up for. Click here for ideas and information!

In past years, great items have included the following, just to name a few:

  1. Donut Hike

  2. Night of Persian Delights – Drinks, appetizer, dinner, and dessert!
