This Week's News

Habit of Mind

Last week students participated in our first Habits of Mind and Character Counts assembly. In this assembly they worked together to solve a puzzle they had never seen before with the use of past knowledge. Together, they explored the idea of Applying Past Knowledge to New Situations. We encourage parents to have meaningful conversations with their child regarding times they have implemented the use of past knowledge to help navigate new situations.

Further, students were introduced to our Character Counts program. This trimester we are focusing on the pillar of Caring. Students have been encouraged to highlight moments in which they find others in the Kittredge community being caring. Students who are 'caught' being caring are recognized with a sticker to wear throughout the day. We have a bulletin board at the school where students are about to celebrate caring of other students. It's wonderful to see so many of our students finding peers who are, thoughtful, kind, and caring. Way to go Kittredge!

Thank you to all that attended our Back to School Night last week. It was lovely to see everyone here in the building with us, or on zoom.
