Habit of Mind – Questioning and Posing Problems

“Judge a man by his questions rather than by his answers.” ~Voltaire

It is very important to question and pose problems when you don’t understand something. When something is difficult, asking questions and posing problems is one of the easiest ways to get the answer or solution.

“The wise man doesn’t give the right answers, he poses the right questions.” ~Claude Levi-Strauss, businessman

NatureBridge Information Night for all 7th & 8th Grade Families, Tonight!

Tonight at 6:00 all 7th and 8th grade families will meet to learn about the outdoor education program at NatureBridge.

This meeting will set the tone and go over details to ensure a positive and successful week of outdoor education. We will talk about the academic requirements, behavioral expectations and the importance of team building. You will hear/see what a typical NatureBridge day will be like, and will be able to ask questions and address any concerns you have as a student, parent or family.

This is a very important meeting for first time participants but helpful for everyone.

Our last day before Thanksgiving Break the whole school will visit the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Students will spend time with their big buddies and their classmates enjoying the exhibits. If you have volunteered to chaperone and have a membership, please let your child’s teacher know.

Eighth Grade High School Recommendation Forms are Due

We are asking all 8th grade parents to help their children turn in all teacher and principal recommendation forms. Forms can be printed off most school’s websites and should be turned in by Thanksgiving Break to be sure to meet the deadline.

Kittredge Gear for the Holidays!

A new selection of Kittredge gear will be available to order later this week. I will email a link when we get it, so you can check out the newest Kittredge hoodies, tee shirts and jackets.

Parent Teacher Conferences, December 14 and 15

Please Return your Conference Form before Thanksgiving Break

The first trimester of the year will end on December 1 and we are holding Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday, December 14th & 15th. School will be dismissed at noon and conferences will be from 12:30 to 5 on both days.

In order to best accommodate sibling conferences and help with special circumstances, we are continuing to schedule these conferences by hand. Please return the attached form with your 4 choices by next Tuesday, before Thanksgiving Break, so we can schedule one of your preferred times.

If you would rather skip the conference this time and have your child’s report card mailed, please check off that option on the form and return it.

There are sign up forms in the office, or you can print your conference form here: December Sign up
