Kittredge Konnection - January 9, 2024

This Week's News

Welcome Back, Kittredge!

It's a new year, and we are so happy to be back! We hope you all had wonderful holidays and restful vacations. We're looking forward to an amazing 2024!

Thank you KPA!

It may be a new year, but the Holiday Happening is still fresh on our minds - what a blast! We owe a big thank you to the Kittredge Parents Association for all of the work that went into designing, organizing, and running the event. Fun games, delicious food, and a sing-a-long? What more could a kid want? We really are the luckiest little school in the world!

Kittredge, You're Pawsitively Wonderful

Thank you for your donations to our Waffle Fundraiser for Muttville! Together, we raised $526 to find homes for senior dogs. Special thanks to Emerson and her Muttville senior dog Jax, for their inspirational visit to our fundraiser.

Basketball Games this Thursday and Friday!

Our Coyotes are back and ready to play!

The boys' basketball team will play this Thursday, January 11 at 4 pm against CAIS at CAIS 19th Ave.

The girls' basketball team will play Friday, January 12 at 6 pm against SF Friends at SF Friends.

Gooooooo Kittredge!

Student Council Election

It's already that time again!

Student council forms are due to the office this Friday, January 12. All forms must be signed by your child's teacher and one parent. Students must be in good academic and behavioral standing to serve in student council. If your child is in need of a form, please visit the office to obtain a form.

Speeches should be ready for next Wednesday, after which our student body will cast their votes. We wish the best of luck to all our wonderful candidates.

Health Reminders

We are still in the middle of cold and flu season. Everything from COVID and RSV to the common cold is going around. We strongly recommend testing at the first sign of symptoms. Testing early reduces the chances of exposing others, and can help your child return to school as quickly as possible. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.

Hot Lunch

Hot Lunch this Friday will be cheese pizza, with carrots and yogurt.

You can place your order using the form below:

Next Week's News

Chess Club Starts Next Friday, January 19

Hello Kittredge community! My name is Jeremy, and I’m a passionate chess player and coach who is excited to share a love of this beautiful game with Kittredge’s students.

Chess Club is run in six week sessions. The sixth week is always a pizza party! Classes will be held on all Fridays that aren't breaks or minimum days. This session will run from January 19-March 18, and will continue our focus on tactics.

Chess Club will be open to all Grade 1-8 students, regardless of previous experience with chess. However, if your student is a complete beginner, please email me in advance so we can make a plan to get them reasonably caught up to the rest of the class.

Each lesson will be split between a short 15-30 minutes of interactive instruction and 30-45 minutes of gameplay. While there is plenty to learn, our primary focus will be on creating a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment to enjoy chess and build community.

All materials will be provided.

This session will cost $150 per student. Please fill out the below form to register your student.

Payment will be due on the date of the first session and can be paid via venmo to @jeremy-mann-1, cash, or check addressed to Jeremy Mann.

Please email for any clarifying questions.

Salesian Theatre Showcase

Come on down to see our very own Liliana perform in the Salesian Theatre Showcase next Thursday, January 18!

Is it too early to be thinking about summer?

The Kittredge Summer School Program is on the horizon and we look forward to seeing you there! Want more details and to know how to register? Give our office a call, or complete the form on our Summer School page.
