NatureBridge: February 12 to 17
In less than three weeks, our 7th and 8th graders will arrive at Yosemite National Park for a very memorable outdoor education and bonding experience.
Please make sure your child has the supplies on the supply list for this weeklong program. Having the appropriate clothes for the weather will make the week much more enjoyable. Supply lists are available from Mr. Young if you need another copy.

In Preparation for NatureBridge
Over the next two weeks, the 7th and 8th grade classes will have a chance to break in their hiking boots and perfect their ice skating moves. Next Thursday the classes will embark on an all-day hike to Land’s End and the following Thursday they will go to Yerba Buena ice skating rink. Please make sure your child brings a hearty lunch and a water bottle along with any other gear they need.

Summer School 2017 is now Scheduled
We believe that summer is a great opportunity to engage children in activities that enrich their academic foundation and keep them involved and interested in learning. Therefore, we will offer one five-week academic session this summer. The dates are June 19 to July 21.
Brochures and registration will be available in February. We hope you will be able to use this program, as it is a worthwhile experience for any child. Also, we appreciate you letting your friends know of this program since it is open to students in any school.

March 29 is our Annual Talent Show
Please mark your calendars now to make sure you can attend this entertaining evening of talent. Once again the KPA has reserved the theater at the JCC on California Street. The show begins at 6:30pm and Extended Day will close at 5:30.
Classrooms are all working with David on their group production… the theme this year is “Outer Space”. Individual students can audition during class time next month.

Visitors are in the School
Applicants for next year in grades 1 through 8 are coming in to spend a day in a classroom. Kittredge is designed to have openings for new transfer students in 6th grade while all other grades are filled if space is available. Word of mouth has always been our best advertising, so if you know of any families looking for a strong academic yet nurturing environment, please have them call us.

Seventh Grade Parent Information Night – February 1, from 6 to 7pm
A note from Ms. Dharmer
All 7th grade parents are encouraged to attend an information session with Ms. Dharmer regarding the upcoming research paper. This is a project that spans one and a half trimesters and accounts for a significant part of your child’s grade. Even if another child of yours has already had this wonderful experience, we would love for you to attend. The information is a great refresher and you, as a veteran, can offer helpful insight to parents. For new folks, this gathering ensures that we will all be on the same page and able to provide a solid support team for your child’s long term learning adventure.
The session will be held on Wednesday, February 1st, from 6-7 pm.
Please RSVP to me as soon as you can: dlmckee99@aol.com . Looking forward to seeing everyone!
