A Guide Dog will be at Kittredge This Week

An important note from Cate Kreutzen, 7th Grade

I have been raising a guide dog since April 2016. As she will eventually go everywhere with her blind person, an important part of her training is to go to school with me. Starting this week she will attend seventh grade. She needs everyone’s cooperation to be successful at school. The best thing you can do is act like she is not there. Please do not pet her, look her in the eye, solicit her attention, or talk to her. Also, she wears a “gentle leader” around her muzzle. This is Guide Dog policy, it is not because she bites or barks. Thank you.

Calling All Parents!

March 9th is the next PBC (Parent Book Club) Meeting

Ms. Dharmer will lead the second trimester book club meeting on March 9th. All parents are invited to read and join the discussion of our second book, “Bless the Beasts and Children”.

We will meet from 6 to 7:30 on Thursday, March 9. Light refreshments will be served. Please contact Debra Dharmer at if you have any questions about the PBC.

Our Second Trimester Ends March 10

Please remember that all middle school parents can check on their child’s grades and assignments using their TeacherEase account. With two weeks of the grading period left, now is a great time to see what is going on!

Staff Development Day – March 10

There will be no classes on Friday, March 10. This staff development day will give us a chance to meet, prepare and review curriculum.

A Survey Monkey questionnaire will be emailed this week for Extended Day enrollment on March 10. We ask each parent to respond with a “yes” or “no” whether their child will attend Extendo. Thank you in advance!

The Kittredge School Talent Show is Scheduled for March 29 at 6:30

Extended Day will close at 5:00

Please mark your calendars now to make sure you and your child can attend this entertaining evening of talent. Classes are busy working on their group performances with David Silverman. We hope all students and families will attend.

Each child’s role in the class production is important so please let us know if your child will not be attending the talent show.

Special request for parents: We are looking for any Star Wars costumes to use for a class performance. If anyone has costumes and especially masks we can borrow, please drop them off in the office when you get a chance. Thanks so much for your help.

Futsal Season is Here

The popular spring sport of Futsal (a form of indoor soccer) has begun and we will have one co-ed Varsity team this year.

The game and practice schedules will be posted on our website next week. Students will also bring home a schedule and permission slip next week. Signed permission slips must be returned in order for your child to play.

Yosemite Institute Pictures – Check them Out

Come and take a look in the lobby at pictures of our 7th and 8th graders enjoying an amazing experience at Yosemite. If you would like a detailed look… here’s a link to more photos (831 of them) from the week:
