Habit of Mind: Applying Past Knowledge to New Situation

As part of our Habits of Mind framework, this month we are focusing on applying past knowledge to new situations and practicing what we learn! We are encouraging our Kittredge community to take time to reflect on past experiences and learning opportunities in order to be better equipped when taking on new challenges!

Driver Forms

Are you planning on chaperoning a field trip this year?

First of all, THANK YOU!

Second, please make sure you fill out a driver form. These forms must be filled out and returned to our office annually, so if you have yet to complete one this school year, please do so! It is also important that we receive a copy of your insurance coverage and a photocopy of your driver's license along with this form! Thank you!!

Hot Lunch

Hot Lunch this Friday (9/26) will be: Sandwich, Juice Box, Piece of Fruit, and a Side Item. The sandwiches will include turkey, cheddar cheese, and mayo.

The cost of each lunch will be $9.00. A second (or even a third) slice, bagel, etc. may be ordered for an additional $3.00 each.

Orders are placed on Thursday morning. All orders must be submitted by end of day on Wednesday.

Sports

We did it!! Our Kittredge sports teams have started out with a bang this year with 2 Cross Country Meets and 1 Volleyball game under our belts! We have a fantastic group of athletes this year representing Kittredge, not to mention Coach Gules and Coach Kevin! Keep it up Coyotes!!

Cross country is off and running, and they had a great 2nd meet at Lindley Meadow. Thank you SO much to our parent volunteers who helped make the race operate so smoothly!

Volleyball had a great first game against. Gateway. The team showed great teamwork and we can't wait for the rest of the season. Tomorrow, our Coyotes play vs. CAIS at 6pm. If you are a parent planning to attend the game, please email Ms. Gules to be added to the guest list.

One Small Way to Care For Our Planet

In the spirit of this trimester's Character Counts pillar, Caring, we would like to take a moment to remind all Kittredge students the important of caring for our planet.

At Kittredge, we have three bins in every classroom (landfill, compost, and recycling) and encourage students to self-sort when they dispose of materials. Many classroom teachers will also make sorting into a classroom job, so that each class is as environmentally friendly as it can be!

Please take a moment to look over these charts with your family if you would like a refresher on how to be a champion for our planet!

High School Visits

For the next couple months, our 7th and 8th grade students will be visited by representatives from a wide range of private high schools in San Francisco. This week, students can expect a visit from Marin Academy on Thursday. You can find high school visit dates on our Google Calendar.

As a reminder, our 8th graders will have High School Prep Week October 6th through 10th where they will be given time and guidance for High School Applications.

Kittredge Cookbook

This is a reminder that submissions for our very own Kittredge Community Cookbook must be submitted no later than Fri, Oct 3, 2025.

Please enter the recipe info in this Google Form.

Please upload your images in this folder on Google Drive. Photos should be labeled with first/last name and dish name so we can match the picture corresponding with recipe. Here is the Google Drive Link.

We look forward and encourage everyone to submit a recipe. It can be your favorite recipe, a family recipe, or one that represents your culture. Feel free to submit more than one if you are inspired. We appreciate your participation in creating a special keepsake treasured by our entire community.

First Virtual Info Session for the Year

Our upcoming virtual information session for Kittredge Admissions next Tuesday 9/30 is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know our new group of prospective families. If you or someone you know is interested in attending, the information can be found here.

KPA Korner

1) Thanks to everyone who could join us on the fall camping trip to Salt Point State Park this weekend. A huge thank you to Leyla and Shane, parents of Kai (7th), for organizing and to Sergey, parent of Zachy (7th), for the amazing photos!

2) Fall Fundraising - everyone should have received an email from their room parent asking for donations and CMI submissions. Links for submissions are below and the deadline is 9/30.
