Community Trash Pickup
Last Friday, our school headed out into the neighborhood for a neighborhood clean up with Refuse Refuse! We began with organization founder, Vince, who gave us a "trash talk" about the importance of keeping our city clean. It was a great opportunity to work together and make a difference! We’re so grateful to Refuse Refuse and Vince for helping make this happen! If your child has been inspired to keep your neighborhood clean, please find a local pickup in your area.

Hot Lunch
Hot Lunch this Friday (10/30) will be: Piroshki, Juice Box, Fruit/Veg, and a Side Item.
The cost of each lunch will be $9.50. A second (or even a third) slice, bagel, etc. may be ordered for an additional $3.00 each.
If you have not already done so for the month, place your orders using this Google form.
Orders are placed on Thursday morning. All orders must be submitted by end of day on Wednesday.
Día de Los Muertos
Día de los Muertos is a holiday for people to take time to remember and honor family members and friends who have passed away. It is traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2. At Kittredge, Maestra Lourdes has set up an altar in our office and students are invited to bring photos of loved ones who have passed away to place on the altar in their memory.
"In Their Name: Día de los Muertos 2026" is an exhibition at SOMArts running from Oct 24 through Nov 20. Curated by Bridgett Rex and Rio Yañez, the exhibition honors the love, ancestry, and commitment of mothers across generations. We encourage families to visit the exhibition in the coming weeks! HandWorkShop - New Reduced Price!
We’re excited to offer a brand-new workshop this year led by Ms. Rose! Even better, she’s lowered the price to make it more accessible for families who want to give this new group a try!! The cost will now be $280 for a five-week session.
HandWorkShop is inspired by traditional and modern hardworking skills, unexpected, yet accessible materials, and individual creativity, come try new crafting techniques, and build with your hands. This session, students will be making unique animal sculptures! HandWorkShop is open to all Kittredge students and starts tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 28. Find all the details below!
Science Club #1 - Space Science
Science Club begins TODAY, October 27th with our new five-week session focused on space, including the solar system, our planet, the atmosphere, and Newton’s third law of motion.

Halloween Reminders
Kids are invited to come to school on Friday in costume to celebrate Halloween! But, before we get into all the spooky fun, we have a few reminders for our community.
First, Kittredge is a candy-free school. Please refrain from sending your child with any sugary sweets on the 30th.
Second, we do not allow costumes that include weapons of any kind (including props) or promote violence. Costume accessories that might get in the way of the academic day, should be stowed in backpacks until the parade at 2pm. We appreciate your cooperation.
Third, the biggest assignment is to HAVE FUN!
Halloween Parade
On Friday, October 30th, parents and family members are invited to join us at 2pm in front of the school for our annual holiday parade. Kittredge students, teachers, and community members will parade around the block before gathering at Rochambeau Park for some Halloween festivities, led by our performing arts teacher Ms. K!
Parents, if you plan to depart with your child after the festivities, please make sure to let your child's teacher know that you are leaving with your child. All students will leave their belongings in their classrooms during the parade. After students grab their things, please check out your child in the office.

Speaking of Halloween, we had an amazing time over the weekend at the Great Hauntway, handing out treats and enjoying some spooky fun. We want to extend a HUGE thank you to those that have helped us create Halloween magic this past week and extend thanks to those who are supporting our community this week! Big thanks to Alex, Christine, Jaclyn, Blair, and Kelley for bringing those Kittredge smiles!
From stuffing goodie bags to passing out treats and spreading the word about the best little school in town. Thank you Adrien, Bec, Aarthi, Jessica, and Kelley for helping to stuff goody bags for round 2 on Lake ST. We appreciate our community-- thank you!

Picture Day
Time to start picking out those outfits, Kittredge! Picture Day is Thursday, November 5. Come ready to show your pearly whites and when the photos are available a few weeks after Picture Day, you can decide on photo package options. Keep an eye on your inbox for more details!
Sports Report
Our Kittredge teams are finishing the season out strong with our final meets and games! Cross Country Finals will take place on Monday, November 9th at Hellman Hollow. And our volleyball team will be finishing out the season on Thursday, November 5th at CAIS. We are ready to go out with a bang! Go Coyotes!
Looking Ahead
Veterans Day
We will not have classes on November 11 for Veterans Day. Extended day is open for five or more students. Please use this form if you would like to sign your child up for Extendo.
Open Houses
We have two more open houses coming up on Nov 7 and Nov 12. We encourage prospective families to come check us out and get to know our space and our mission! If you know of a family who you think would be a great Kitt fit, send them our way! We would love to meet them.
Academy of Sciences
It's almost time for one of our favorite field trips of the year! Our annual school-wide trip to the Academy of Sciences is slotted for Wednesday, November 18. We can't wait to walk through the rainforest, wave hello to penguins, and stand below towering dinosaurs with our students again this year! Kindergarten and 4/5 will be driving, so if you’re interested in helping with transportation, please make sure we have your driver information on file in the office!
Thanksgiving Break
Already?! Thanksgiving Break will be here before we know it. Please remember that Kittredge will be closed November 23-27. Classes will resume on November 30.
KPA Korner
Fall Fundraising is Still Underway!
Time is running out to participate in our fall fundraiser, The Great Kittredge Gathering. Visit the website to check out all the exciting items up for grabs, and be sure to share the link with friends and family! The raffle closes on November 6 at 10 pm. We have some great raffle items, including a weekend getaway in Sonoma, Nutcracker tickets, and a family photography session. Raffle winners will be announced at the Fall Social on November 7. And don't miss the CMIs! There is just one spot remaining for the Date Night & Kids Night In. Or grab a spot to join a slime kitchen party, a karaoke party, or a visit to the batting cage. Thanks to everyone who has participated so far!
