Seventh Grade Parent High School Information Night – Tonight, May 3 @ 6:00pm
All parents of 7th graders are invited (and strongly encouraged) to meet with Mr. Young to hear about the admissions process for High School entrance. Now is a great time to begin organizing your calendar with dates and details so there will be less stress in the Fall! Students will have a lot of support next year so this meeting is for parents only.
E.R.B. Testing Is Next Week for 3rd to 8th Graders
Please make sure your child is well rested, has a healthy breakfast and is at school on time for these standardized tests. Homework will be lighter than usual.
Next Week is Screen-Free Week: Monday, May 9th to Sunday, May 15th
We hope that many of our students and families will join the fun and turn off their screens for 7 days. For entertainment, participants are able to read, daydream, explore, enjoy nature, and spend time with family and friends. This annual celebration gives children, families, schools and communities a chance to turn off screens and turn on life.
Screens can still be used for homework. The idea of this week is to find and enjoy other means of entertainment and socializing for seven days.
No School Next Friday, May 13th; Teacher Development Day
Next Friday is a scheduled workday for teachers so there will be no classes in session. Extended Day will be open during the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm and available for per diem drop in students ($40/day). There will be no charge for those with an Extended Day contract.
There is a Survey Monkey Form that we are asking every parent to fill out so we can plan for Extended Day staffing. The link will be emailed to you tomorrow. Thank you all in advance!
Talent Show DVDs are Available to Order
A DVD of this year’s wonderful Talent Show is available to purchase. Those of you who have already purchased one online will be receiving yours soon. If anyone else would like to order one, please send in the payment and your name. The cost is $20.00… quite a bargain!
There is Still Some Space Available in Summer School
Our 5-week program begins on June 20 and goes until July 22. Mornings are designed to keep students active and their grade level skills strong. The afternoons offer a variety of free play and structured activities. If you are interested, applications are available in the office or you can download one from our website.
Some space is still available for students who are entering 2nd grade through 6th grade.
Last Month For Hot Lunches
Our last 2 Friday lunches can be ordered today. This Friday, May 6, and May 20 will be the end of the Hot Lunch program this year. Thank you all for your support. Click here for May 2016 hot lunch form.
Planning for Next Year?
Our first day of school will be Wednesday, August 31. A complete calendar will be available after our Staff Development Day.
Habit of Mind for May: Thinking Flexibly
