You Can Order Your Kittredge Yearbook Now
The Kittredge School yearbooks will be here soon. Kevin and the Yearbook Committee worked hard to use pictures that will stir memories of this year for students throughout the school. Yearbook signing will be June 2 and the books will be distributed then.
If you would like to have a Kittredge School yearbook, please click here for a form 2016 yearbook orders. There will also be extra forms in the office if you have trouble printing one.
Sports Day is Tomorrow – Wednesday, May 18
Everyone is invited to join our last spirit day for the year. Please help your child celebrate Sports Day by wearing the colors or uniform of his or her favorite team or sport. What could be better?? Hope to see lots of sports fans tomorrow!
8th Graders to Samuel Taylor Park for Camping – Tomorrow
Our 8th graders will leave tomorrow for a couple days of fun and camping to celebrate and bond with each other. They will spend their days cooking, eating, hiking and hanging out. Let’s hope this nice weather continues!
Police Athletic League at Rochambeau Park
The San Francisco Police Department will send some of their officers to shoot hoops and play sports with neighborhood kids in Rochambeau Park. They will be here after school on the following days: 5/18, 5/24 and 5/31. All Kittredge students are welcome to join the fun!
Kindergarten Family Welcome – Thursday!
Newly accepted Kindergarteners and their families have been invited to meet their Kittredge classmates and teachers next Thursday, May 19. We look forward to meeting our newest families and sharing some time together.
A special thank you to Linda Hughes, current kindergarten parent, for helping with this event.
Welcome our New Principals for a Day – Mr. B. and Mr. B.
This Friday, May 20th, Jacob and Ari Bushler (Mr. B. and Mr. B.) will be our principals for the day! Please stop to say hello to them as they open doors at our morning drop off and help put students in cars at 3pm. They will also spend some time in Mr. L.’s office getting to put their feet up, having a cup of cocoa, recording our message on the school phone and generally working hard to fill Mr. L.’s shoes.
Last Day of Study Hall is Next Thursday, May 26!
As written on the contract, Thursday, May 26 will be the end of study hall and therefore the end of most daily homework assignments. There may, however, still be some work that students will be asked to complete at home. Extended Day drop in is available for any student who needs after school care.
End of Year Picnic and Beach Clean Up – Next Friday, May 27
The annual Kittredge end of the year picnic will be on Friday, May 27 at Baker Beach. Parents and families are invited to join us, so mark your calendars. The school will furnish paper products, condiments, ice and charcoal. Each class member will be asked to bring something from the following:
K/1: chips – 2 bags each
2/3: drinks – three 2-liter bottles each (no caffeine; water is recommended)
4/5: hot dogs & buns – 1 or 2 packs each
6: cookies – 1 or 2 bags each
7 & 8: salads or side dish – enough for 10
At 10:30 (while the picnic is being set up) the school will be leading an organized clean up of the beach area. The picnic will begin when the clean up is finished. Parents are welcome to come, help and eat.
Field Day is June 3 in Hellman Hollow
We are planning another great day of outdoor fun and activities in a new location this year… Hellman Hollow. Continuing students can begin their search for their team color accessories, and new students will get their team color soon. Field Day t-shirts (thank you KPA!) will be distributed to everyone on that day… expect to have a great time! Details will be in next week’s Konnection.
Last Call for Talent Show DVDs!
Anyone who would like to purchase a DVD of this year’s wonderful talent show should let Trudy know. The KPA is selling them for a donation of $20 (a real bargain!). This is a limited time offer, as we will not be able to make copies after the school year ends. Please drop off the payment with your name and we will burn a copy for you.
Thanks for a great Screen Free Week!
We had a record number of students (and families) successfully complete screen free week. There were a number of comments from parents on our survey and we thought some of them would be fun to share.
~ Great idea! It was harder on ME than I thought.
~ MMMMMMMM! ICE CREAM!
~ Amazing commitment. We should do this more often.
~ We love it! How about a month next year?
~ Read hundreds of pages, invented several board games and wrote a play. Here’s to screen free week!
~ Thanks for doing this.
~ Torturous but survived!
Last But Certainly Not Least
Thank you Remi Hayashi and Goody Goodie Cream and Sugar!
Remi, mom of 3rd grader Luciano, and chef and owner of Goody Goodie Cream and Sugar opened her doors to the Kittredge staff for a cooking class and team building evening last week. We had the best time cooking, laughing, eating and drinking with each other and can’t recommend the experience enough.
If you are interested in having a business or personal cooking party Remi would be happy to talk with you about your plans. You can contact her at: remi@goodygoodie.com
