The Kittredge School yearbooks will be here soon. Kevin and the Yearbook Committee worked hard to use pictures that will stir memories of this year for students throughout the school. Yearbook signing will be May 30 and the books will be distributed then.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game – Tomorrow, May 15

Tomorrow our 7th and 8th graders will head over to AT&T Park to eat, and oh yeah, cheer on the Giants! They will leave the Park when the game ends or at 3:45 and will return to Kittredge by 5pm.

Kindergarten Family Welcome – Tomorrow at 2:15!

Newly accepted Kindergarteners and their families have been invited to meet their Kittredge classmates and teachers tomorrow afternoon. We look forward to meeting our newest families and sharing some time together.

7th Grade Parents High School Information Night – Thursday, May 16 @ 6pm

All 7th grade parents are invited and strongly encouraged to attend this informational meeting about the high school application process. Now is a great time to begin talking as a family about goals and plans for high school. Don’t let the admissions process become overwhelming. Come and get some basic information to help you start planning for this next step in your child’s education.

This meeting is for parents only; students will get a lot of support for this process in class.

6th Grade Sleepover – May 16

This annual 6th grade highlight is scheduled for Thursday. Students bond together throughout the afternoon, evening, night and morning with various games, activities and meals. It is always a highlight of the year and wonderful memory of sixth grade.

We can’t thank Kevin and Gules enough for their time and good energy, which is in abundance during this very long day.

Sports Banquet – Friday, May 17

Crazy Hair Day – May 22

Our final Spirit Day of the year is coming! Your children are encouraged to be creative and have fun for Crazy Hair Day.

Last Day of Study Hall is Next Wednesday, May 22

As written on the contract, Wednesday, May 22 will be the end of study hall and therefore the end of most daily homework assignments. There may, however, still be some work that students will be asked to complete at home. Extended Day drop in is available for any student who needs after school care.

End of Year Picnic and Beach Clean Up – Next Thursday, May 23

The annual Kittredge end of the year picnic will be on Thursday, May 23 at Baker Beach. Parents and families are invited to join us, so mark your calendars. The school will furnish paper products, condiments, ice and charcoal. Each class member will be asked to bring something from the following:

K/1: chips – 2 bags each

2/3: drinksthree 2-liter bottles each (no caffeine; water is recommended)

4/5: hot dogs & buns – 1 or 2 packs each

6: cookies – 1 or 2 bags each

7 & 8: salads or side dish – enough for 10

At 10:30 (while the picnic is being set up) the school will be leading an organized clean up of the beach area. The picnic will begin when the clean up is finished. Parents are welcome to come, help and eat.

No School Friday, May 24; Teacher Development Day

Friday, May 24 is a scheduled workday for teachers so there will be no classes in session. Extended Day will be open for 5 or more students during the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm. There will be no charge for those with an Extended Day contract and it is available for per diem drop in students ($60/day).

Memorial Day Holiday – May 27

There will be no classes or Extended Day on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.

8th Grade Paddle Boarding and Golf – May 29

Our 8th graders, and their teacher (and a driver or two), will spend a beautiful day in Marin County starting at 101 Water Sports. Thank you to the Wells family for helping this to happen.

Yearbook Signing – May 30

The whole school joins the fun of signing each other’s yearbooks. Classroom doors open at 2pm so that students in every class can walk through the school and find each other.

Yearbooks will be available to purchase soon.

Field Day – May 31 in Peacock Meadow, Golden Gate Park

We are planning a great day of outdoor fun and activities in Peacock Meadow. Continuing students can begin their search for their team color accessories, and new students will get their team color soon. Field Day t-shirts (thank you KPA!) will be distributed to everyone on that day… expect to have a great time! Details will be in next week’s Konnection.

Next Year’s News

Next Year’s NatureBridge Dates are Set… Mark your Calendar!

All parents of current 6th and 7th graders (next year’s 7th & 8th grades) should know that our dates for the week at Yosemite National Park are set. We will be heading to Yosemite on Sunday, February 9, and returning on Friday, February 14, 2020. As always, we’re looking forward to a great winter experience!

Last KPA Meeting is Tonight at 6pm

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting tonight. There will be an end of year wrap up as well as plans for the future. Pizza snack will be available for Kittredge students while parents are in the meeting.
