Welcome Back, Kittredge!
We hope you had a wonderful break filled with family time and ease. We are so excited to be back, and can't wait to see what 2026 has in store for our Kittredge community!
Thank You to our Holiday Happening Volunteers!
We owe a great big thank you to our incredible parents for putting on this year's Holiday Happening! Our KPA volunteers turned our little school into a Winter Wonderland, and every activity leader contributed to an evening of festive fun. We are so grateful to everyone who made this year's Holiday Happening so special.
Habit of Mind: Managing Impulsivity
This month, we are encouraging learners to stop and think. We are working to build habits of contemplation and mindfulness before reaction. We are learning to pause and think before acting or speaking, create space between a thought and a response in order to consider alternatives, consequences, and to gather information.
Hot Lunch is Back!
Hot Lunch this Friday (1/9) is a fan favorite : Pizza, Juice Box, Fruit/Veg, and a Side Item.
The cost of each lunch will be $9.00. A second (or even a third) slice, bagel, etc. may be ordered for an additional $3.00 each.
If you have not already filled it out, here is the form!
Orders are placed on Thursday morning. All orders must be submitted by end of day on Wednesday.
Talent Show Forms Due Friday
We are getting to that magical time of year when Kittredge kids get the opportunity to show us their skills in the talent show. All forms and music submissions are due to Ms K by THIS Friday!
Boba Fundraiser
This Friday, our student council will be fundraising with a Boba Sale! So, get ready for some sweet treats to end the week!
New Student Application Deadline this Saturday!
A friendly reminder that new student applications for our 2026-2027 school year are due this Saturday, January 10! We are so excited to read through your applications and get to know our newest cohort of Kittredge kids! Current families will be invited to reenroll at the end of the month.

Graphic Novel Club with Katie (Grades 5-8)

Mini Session of Nature and Art with Katie (Grades 4-8)
Tuesdays (Just 3 sessions!), 4:15-5:10pm
January 27, February 3 and February 10
Warm up from the winter chill and get cozy with an art class inspired by nature in winter. We’ll explore the work of nature-inspired illustrators and artists – such as Jan Brett and Andy Goldsworthy – who draw inspiration from the winter season, and then create our own artwork inspired by their styles. Student Council
Our student council has done a terrific job for the start of the year. They are concluding their first term now. Voting for our next term will take place next Monday!
After School Mandarin Class
Our after school Mandarin class will start next Monday, given enough sign ups. Registration is due by this Friday so, if this is something you are interested make sure you don't miss out!
• Session Length: Each session will run for three months on Mondays, totaling 12 classes.
• Frequency and Duration: Classes will be held once per week for 60 minutes.
• Tuition: The cost is set at $350 USD per student for the full 12-class session.

Cooking Club
If your child loves to cook, or explore other cuisines, join the Kittredge Cooking Club!
Designed especially for Kittredge students, this hands-on after-school class teaches kids essential life skills through fun, age-appropriate recipes. The kids will continue to practice measuring and mixing to chopping and sautéing. Students will learn kitchen basics while preparing delicious dishes they’ll be proud to bring home. Open to Grades K-8
What we’re serving up this for this session:
● Seasonal favorites like lunar new year treats
● Lunchbox-friendly recipes they can make themselves
● Intro to global flavors
● Fun food science and kitchen hacks
● Take-home recipes and tasting portions each week

Yarn Club
Handmade with love - A cozy, creative space for beginners and returning crafters alike! Kids will explore yarn arts like weaving, crochet, loom knitting, or knitting. They will try different methods or focus on the one that suits them best. Projects are tailored to each student’s skill level and interests, with plenty of guidance from an experienced instructor. PERFECT for kids who want help finishing or tackling a new project. A relaxing, screen-free way to build focus, confidence, and create meaningful handmade gifts. All materials and tools provided and to keep.

Looking Ahead
MLK Jr. Day
We will be closed Monday, January 19th, in observance of MLK Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 20th.
Extended Day will be available, with enough sign ups. If you would like to sign your child up, please do so here.
