Talent Show Auditions this Thursday!
Auditions for this year's Talent Show are this Thursday, and permission slips are due tomorrow!
K-8 auditions will take place during lunch and lunch recess. Please make sure your child brings any music they may need for their audition - this includes instruments as well as audio files.
We are excited to share that we will once again host our Talent Show at Jewish Community High School of the Bay. The show will be on Thursday, March 13th from 6:30-8:30. Students must arrive no later than 6:15 to be seated with their class.
Back-to-Back Basketball
It's a big week for basketball here at Kittredge! Our girls have back-to-back games today and tomorrow. Today's game is against Burkes at Burkes, and starts at 3:45. Tomorrow's game will be against KIPP SF at KIPP SF, and will begin at 3:30.
Habit of Mind: Metacognition
February's Habit of Mind is Metacognition, or thinking about your thinking. When children reflect on their thinking process, they can identify strategies that work best for them and become more independent learners. This month, we encourage Kittredge students to examine the different ways they approach tasks, try out new methods, and practice their problem-solving skills.
Hot Lunch
This week's hot lunch will be chicken tenders. You can sign up for February hot lunch using this Google form. All hot lunches come with a side item, fruit, and a juice box.
All Aboard! 7th and 8th Leave for Yosemite
It's finally here! 7th and 8th graders are leaving this Sunday for six days in Yosemite!
Parents, please be at Kittredge with your child between 9:30 and 9:45 on Sunday morning. You'll wave a fond farewell and then they'll be off for a week of exciting outdoor adventures. You can expect emails and picture updates from our office throughout the week, and then to hear all about the trip when they return, Friday about 5pm.

Jasmine Stirling Comes to Kittredge

Our school is looking forward to having San Francisco author Jasmine Stirling visit us for an assembly on Feb. 24 where we will celebrate Women's History month with a discussion all about her new book. Click here to order her book and have it signed at our assembly.
Jasmine A. Stirling (she/her) is the award-winning author of A Most Clever Girl: How Jane Austen Discovered Her Voice (Bloomsbury, 2021), winner of the IPNE Book Award and a Book Riot and Mighty Girl Best Book of the Year. It is currently being translated to Mandarin.
Her second book: Dare to Question: Carrie Chapman Catt’s Voice for the Vote (Union Square & Co, 2023, Booklist starred review), tells the story of the leader, and the letter, that won the vote for women. Her third book, about Jeanne Barret, the botanist who became the first woman to circumnavigate the globe—while disguised as a man—comes out in 2025.
Prior to becoming an author, Jasmine was an education technology executive, and served on nonprofit boards focused on closing the achievement gap.
Jasmine lives in an old house in San Francisco with her spouse, their children, and an absurdly adorable dog. Follow her on Instagram at @jasmine.a.stirling.author, and learn more at www.jasmineastirling.com.

KPA Grade-level Community Building
We love encouraging connections with our fellow parents and students at Kittredge. A little reminder that the KPA will pay your class $200 each school-year to have a fun get-together! It does not need to be used all at once. If you have an idea, plan it with your fellow parents, reach out to your class parent, or Contact: Jessica May-Shah for more info.
