THIS WEEK’S NEWS
NatureBridge: In Progress Now
On Sunday our 7th and 8th graders left for Yosemite National Park for a very memorable outdoor education and bonding experience. So far the weather has been great, the food has been plentiful and the rooms come with an amazing view!
We will welcome them back on Friday about 5pm.
The 6th Grade Invention Convention – December 5
Students have been using many of the Habits of Mind (thinking flexibly, being creative, taking responsible risks, gathering data and persevering – to name a few) in order to produce a new invention. They will share their original creation next Wednesday. Sixth grade parents are invited to stop in and see the displays at 2:15.
Thanksgiving Feast… This Friday, Take 2
The K/1 and the 2/3 classes have rescheduled their feast for this Friday, December 7 at 11:30. Teachers are sending home the details.
No Hot Lunch This Friday, December 7
Because this is the only Friday lunch in December, and our 8th graders are gone, we will skip the entire month and be back in January with lunches to order.
NEXT WEEK’S NEWS
Student Council Elections
All students interested in running for a classroom or school-wide office must return a signed permission form by Wednesday, December 12. Our election for next term’s officers will be held on December 20, before our Winter Break. Student Council is open to students in 4th to 8th grades.
Parent Conferences are next Thursday and Friday
Minimum days are scheduled next Thursday and Friday so that teachers can hold parent conferences. Extended Day is available for students during their conference time. Parents must sign in their child with an Extended Day teacher before they head off to their conference.
Important: Please make sure you arrive on time for your conference so that you can take advantage of the full 20-minute time spot. Because conferences are scheduled back to back, it is important that they end on time.
Minimum Days for Parent Conferences
Please Complete Your Dismissal Information on Survey Monkey
Every parent is being asked to complete 5 easy questions on a survey monkey form so we know where to dismiss your child next week. Please remember that Thursday and Friday are noon dismissals so that teachers can meet for parent conferences.
Thanks in advance! Here’s the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/December13and14
Pajama Day is Coming on December 11
Everybody’s most comfortable spirit day is right around the corner. On Tuesday, December 11 we will all enjoy a day of school in our favorite PJs, slippers and robes. Please help your child join in on the fun.
One More Way to Help… Slipper Drive, December 11
Robyn Mar (8th grader) is holding a slipper drive for La Casa de las Madres. Their mission is to respond to calls for help from domestic violence victims, of all ages, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They give survivors the tools to transform their lives and seek to prevent future violence by educating the community and by redefining public perceptions about domestic violence.
If you can help, please bring in a new pair of slippers by next Tuesday. Robyn will pick them up on Pajama Day.

A sandwich snack is provided.
There will be crafts and games for all.
We will end with a community sing-a-long.
As always, a great time is expected!
Rumor has it that Santa will make an appearance.
Important Note To All Parents: During the Holiday Happening we ask parents to supervise their own children. There will be a lot of stimuli throughout the school and it can be overwhelming to some.
