Visiting Kittredge School
Presently we are not permitted to have families tour the school in person. We encourage families to attend one of our virtual open houses, and/or set up a private meeting with the Principal to learn about the school. We offer virtual open houses and meetings for all grade levels. Applications are completed on-line and you can click here if you’d like to begin your application now. If you’d like to set up a private meeting please click this link to get to a sign-up page. To register for an open house please see the next paragraph. The school office telephone number is 415-750-8390. While we will not be in the building on any regular basis through the summer, we will check the phone for messages often.
Two virtual open houses are offered from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on two weekday evenings, and one is offered on a Saturday morning, from 10:00 to 11:00. These provide an excellent opportunity to meet and talk with teachers and hear from the Principal, current parents, and current and former students, and have a chance to ask questions about the school and the admissions process.
Evening Open Houses are scheduled for Thursday, October 7 and Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Our Saturday morning Open House will be held on October 23. A reservation is needed for all dates, as space is limited. To make a reservation, please click this link.
By the way, if the SFDPH deems it safe to offer live open houses instead of virtual ones, we will do exactly that. We will inform you of any changes in format as soon as they are known.
It is still not considered safe to schedule live tours at this time. You may sign up for a private meeting with the principal during which a virtual tour will be offered. To schedule a virtual tour please click this link. We do hope to be able to schedule live tours at some point this year and will update this page as conditions change.
Student Play Dates and Visits
At present we are unable to schedule play dates and visits. We will keep families updated regarding any changes that may occur.
• Schedule a tour or an open house. You receive an application during your tour or open house.
• Complete the on-line application.
• Email or give the confidential Student Evaluation Form to your child’s current teacher so that the teacher can complete and return the form to the Kittredge admissions office. Have the completed form sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Choose the correct form for your child’s current grade here: Pre-K:Kindergarten Form Grades 1 through 8 Form
• Give the Record Release Form (applicants to grades 1–8) to your child’s current school.
An admissions committee, consisting of teachers and administrators, makes admission decisions. The admissions committee’s job is to admit students for whom Kittredge School is a good fit. We look for families who understand and support our school mission and core values, and for students who will thrive in our small, nurturing environment and will benefit from our structured curriculum. Children who succeed at Kittredge tend to have a natural desire to learn and want to take an active role in their learning. Admission decisions will be mailed on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, and emailed the following day at noon. Kittredge School is a member of the Independent Schools of the San Francisco Bay Area (ISSFBA) and abides by all of its rules and procedures.
