Calling all Talent… Talent Show Auditions are Beginning All students who want to audition for a solo performance at our talent show need to know their act and be ready to perform it in class. Please help your child prepare and remember that acts should be no longer than 3 minutes. There are only four weeks left to rehearse, so audition permission slips must be completed and turned in this week. If you need another form, you can print one here. The Kittredge School Talent Show is Scheduled for March 25 Please mark your calendars now to make sure you can attend this entertaining evening of talent. Classes are working on their group performances with Ms. Elisabeth and Ms. Renee. Each child’s role in the class production is important so please let us know if your child will not be attending the talent show. We hope all students and families will attend. Have your child show you what they are doing! Futsal Season is Here The popular spring sport of Futsal (a form of indoor soccer) has begun. As always we will have practice during our regular scheduled PE time, but this year we have also scheduled an hour practice each Monday after school from 3:15 to 4:15. We are fielding two teams this year. Our varsity team will be 8th graders with some 7th graders and our junior varsity team will be some 7th graders and the 6th graders. Students need to maintain grades of “C” or better to be eligible to play. Middle school students interested in joining a team have been given permission slips. Please return this permission for your child to practice Mondays after school (she or he will miss study hall) and join one of our teams. Games will begin the week of March 8th and a full schedule will be available soon. We also ask for parent drivers as well as a $60 participation fee to help defray the costs of gym rentals and refs. If your child wants to play these should not be deterrents, just let us know. You can download a permission slip here if you need one. Visitors are in the School Applicants for next year in grades 1 through 8 are coming in to spend a day in a classroom. Kittredge is designed to have openings for new transfer students in 6th grade and all other grades are filled if space is available. Word of mouth has always been our best advertising, so if you know of any families looking for a strong academic yet nurturing environment, please have them call us. Thank you, Margaret The beautiful book, Emily’s First 100 Days of School, by Rosemary Wells was donated to Ms. Pon-Barry’s K/1 classroom on the 100th day of school! Thank you Margaret for this fun reading book to add to the classroom library. Yosemite Institute This Sunday at 10:00am our 7th and 8th graders will leave for a very memorable week of outdoor education and bonding with the Yosemite Institute in Yosemite National Park. The students have brought home a very specific supply list that will help make the week a comfortable experience. Please make sure you have helped your child pack with all the necessary items. In Preparation for Yosemite… This Thursday the 7th & 8th grade classes will spend some time ice-skating at the Yerba Buena skating rink. This will give everyone a chance to get some practice and confidence before their evening activity of ice-skating at the Curry Village skating rink in Yosemite Valley. Students should bring a hearty lunch and a water bottle. KPA News Save The Date… Saturday, April 24th is the KPA Dinner and Live Auction. Invitations will be coming soon. Please turn in any auction items to the office or Jen Gerhard.
